"Anubi Is not a dog" (2021) is a multi-channel filmic device that reproduces and amplifies the language used in Dog-dance, (Musical canine freestyle), an artistic sport where dog and master dance in pairs. Dog and Master create the figures of a frenetic choreography. Everything takes place as a dialogue where the word loses its meaning and becomes call and sound. Voice, speech, gaze, bark, they all shape the choreography.

The work is part of ALLEGORIA DELLA FELICITÀ PUBBLICA (ALLEGORY OF PUBLIC HAPPINESS), a project in which Zapruder's oblique investigation of the rites and myths of contemporary society is resumed. The films that compose it show examples of practices and disciplines that reflect a public and social character of language, forms of interaction where the meaning expressed by the enunciative act is produced and exchanged on the basis of a shared code in a given environment, within systems that relate language and representation.

ZAPRUDERfilmmakersgroup is a collective founded in 2000 and based in Roncofreddo, Italy.

ALLEGORIA DELLA FELICITA PUBBLICA is realized thanks to the support of the Italian Council (8th edition, 2020), program for the promotion of Italian contemporary art in the world by the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture, and produced by Associazione Santarcangelo dei Teatri in collaboration with: Xing - Bologna; Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin; Kunstraum Walcheturm - Zurich; Short Theatre - Rome; Mattatoio - Rome; MART - Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto.

ZAPRUDERfilmmakersgroup is a collective founded in 2000 and based in Roncofreddo, Italy. Their practice stems from a quest to the frontiers of linguistic codes and spans across film-set, happenings, acoustics and video sculpture. They conceive projects where cinema and object merge, now referring to stereoscopic techniques, or the illusion of three dimensions, now to expanded cinema.

Since 2012 they have been developing films and performances that incorporate spectatorship into the idea of living image, in the direction of an immersive and polycentric experience. In 2011 their 3D films were awarded at the 68th Venice Film Festival. Zapruder received the MAXXI Prize for Contemporary Art in 2016, and the Italian Council (8th edition, 2020).
