The Open Synth Lab Program:SMEM, the Swiss Museum for Electronic Music Instruments in Fribourg,gets together with Red Bull Music Festival Zürich for two days honoring the greatest music-making machines ever created: synthesizers.

 

Kunstraum Walcheturm welcomes a part of the impressive SMEM collection

 (the largest collection of synthesizers in the world) for a must-see exhibition coupled with workshops and live performances.

 

On Friday, progressive producer, OUS Records’ head honcho and synth veteran Feldermelder holds a beginners workshop open to all up-and-coming musicians.

 On Saturday, The Austrian producer keyboard genius Dorian Concept comes back to share his synth knowledge in a special workshop entitled From the studio to the stage (and back).

 

In the context of the exhibition of synthesizers from the collection of the Swiss Museum for Electronic Music Instruments (SMEM) at Kunstraum Walcheturm, the Festival  offers a series of live performances based around these magical music-making instruments

On Friday Night (21:00h) Leftfield electronic virtuoso and Melodies International co-founder Floating Points will present the Swiss premiere of his new show based on his latest album Crush, released October 18th on Ninja Tune. Additionally, Austrian keyboard genius and Flying Lotus affiliate Dorian Concept will display his ingenious talents, and Swiss genre-benders Xzavier Stone and Modulaw will play live together for the first time ever.
