Of Flesh And Concrete – A Choreographic Installation is an invitation to become fully immersed and actively participate in an experience that inquires the human condition from the perspective of the body. At the boundary of contemporary dance, performance art, visual arts and social experiment, the work of Anti Status Quo Dance Company from Brasilia, Brazil, raises questions about living in society at large urban centers, and how our current economic system shapes our behavior.

Anti Status Quo Companhia de Dança is one of the most active independent artistic experimentation laboratory of contemporary dance in the Center-West of Brazil. Founded in 1988 in Brasilia, directed by the choreographer Luciana Lara and the producer Marconi Valadares, the group stands out for hybridism, experimentalism, movement and dance language research, critical and political dramaturgies and the dialogue with visual arts and philosophy. Recent works investigated the relationship between body and city, social behavior, experience and participative spectatorship and invested in different dance formats as installations, urban interventions, exhibitions and site-specific pieces.
